About Us (Sanstha)

History of the College

Dalit Mitra Kadam Guruji Science College, Mangalwedha, run by Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Mangalwedha, was approved by the Chief Minister, Late Vasantdada Patil, on 16th September 1983.

From June 1984, the college started on a non-subsidized basis in stages i.e. 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.

The expansion of the Arts branch in 1991 provided access to Arts and Science education for students from rural areas.

On 30th September 1993, the name of the college was changed from Science College to Dalit Mitra Kadam Guruji Science College, Mangalwedha by Late Patankraoji Kadam.

Discipline

The college firmly believes that education is incomplete without discipline. The institution is confident in shaping students into wholesome individuals by instilling discipline, fostering righteousness in and around them. A disciplinary committee continuously monitors and maintains discipline within the institution.

To provide our huge and diverse young human resources with knowledge, skills, values and opportunities at affordable cost to help them realize their hidden talents and true potential. The institution aims to enable students to become cultured, creative and constructive citizens who enrich their natural, cultural and socio-political environment.

Social Programs

Sports and Cultural Events

The college encourages students to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities through notice boards and personal communication. Various committees such as Sports, Cultural, and NSS actively promote student participation throughout the year.

Competitions like Essay, Elocution, and Rangoli are organized during Traditional Day week (12th to 18th September). Participation in these activities is emphasized as an important component of students’ academic profiles.

Facilities and Support

  • Re-conduct of examinations for students participating in sports and cultural activities.
  • Financial assistance for special dietary requirements for sports persons and NSS participants.
  • Sports uniforms for inter-collegiate, zonal, state, national and international participants.
  • Track suits for students participating in inter-university tournaments.
  • Availability of sports material for indoor and outdoor games.
  • T.A. and D.A. provided for students participating in various competitive events.
  • Medals and certificates awarded on the occasion of “Modernity Day”.

Infrastructure and Facilities (4.4.2)

The college has established systems and procedures for maintaining and utilizing physical, academic and support facilities such as laboratories, library, sports complex, computers and classrooms.

The campus includes an administrative office, auditorium hall and gymkhana. The college has adequate classrooms with wooden benches, proper ventilation and natural light. Infrastructure is optimally utilized through multiple shifts and well-planned practical batches.

The college has separate gymkhana facilities for men and women. The library is managed by a Library Committee headed by the Principal, with the Librarian as Secretary. The committee oversees budgeting, book purchases and facilities such as INFLIBNET, e-books and intranet library services.
